DESCRIPTION:Spellbinder Orchestra is an intergenerational\, bicoastal collective with elements of folk\, world\, classical and rock. The line-up features ukulele\, guitar\, cello\, and upright bass with intricate arrangements that move from rousing and joyful to thoughtful and dreamy. \nFormerly known as Brother Spellbinder\, the repertoire grew from Alzara Getz’s voice and songwriting which have been described as poetic and philosophical. \nAs the daughter of rock drummer Dave Getz\, original drummer of Big Brother & The Holding Co. and Nancy Baysinger\, one of the first female recording engineers in the San Francisco bay area\, Alzara developed an early passion for musical expression. \nCellist Cornelia Logan\, a Hudson Valley native\, is a former member of the student community orchestra at Bard College and has played with Mamalama and Free River band. \nUpright bassist Joe Pierog tours regularly with his other group\, The Library Band\, and has shared the stage with artists such as B.B. Full lineup to be announced in early May 2022. \n\n\n\n*Collective effervescence (CE) is a sociological concept coined by Émile Durkheim. According to Durkheim\, a community or society may at times come together and simultaneously communicate the same thought and participate in the same action. DESCRIPTION:🎺 🌱 🎷 🎸 🥁 The Land Grows Music @ Seed Song Farm with The Forefathers – June 24 \nThe Forefathers are a genre-bending Soul Jazz Organ Quartet based in The Hudson Valley\, NY. \nTheir sound simultaneously captures classic 1960’s funk and jazz sounds or the Souljazz organ greats\, while maintaining distinctly modern harmonies and hip shaking groove. \nThe band grew out of the friendship of founding members ben Senterfit\, Josh Colow\, and Sean Gallagher. Totally our thing! \n\n\n\nThis all sprouted from an idea a friend of ours had to hold a Mardi Gras/Second Line style parade in Kingston as a way to build community and resilience. \n\n\n\nAfter two years of pandemic cabin fever\, we feel that it’s time to dust off our social skills and come together as a community and (re)build trust and connection. \n\n\n\nOriginally we thought we might do a parade in June but then we found out that Frank Waters was producing his My Kingston Kids 5th Anniversary Party with The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus on May 21 near the Metro Building in Barmann Park. \n\n\n\nFrom The My Kingston Kids event page: \n\n\n\nSave the date for our 5 Year Anniversary of our MyKingstonKids Fest events. This year we bring you THE CIRCUS!! \n\n\n\nWe are excited to announce a wonderful partnership with Bindlestiff Family Cirkus. This partnership will allow us to combine their unique circus talents and our MyKingstonKids activities. Together your children will be amazed\, excited and engaged. Costumes are encouraged!! \n\n\n\nThis event will include a special circus style parade that will lead to the event. (Parade details coming soon) \n\n\n\nThe highlights include\, The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus grand finale performance\, MyKingstonKids Dance Party\, ***newly added Seashell & Ava’s Garden Party\, Inspire Awards\, Circus Activities\, Face painting\, Balloon twisting\, Carnival games and more. \n\n\n\n“Hey”\, we thought\, “perfect!
