Ad Hoc Brass Band is a New Orleans style brass band based in Brooklyn, NY that started back in April 2021 just as the world started to open up. It was started by trombonist Dave Joseph and percussionist Marc Basch who were on the hunt to emulate the sounds of some of their favorite 2nd Line and NOLA Club ensembles.
Ad Hoc Brass boast a residency as the house band and jam leader for the Jambalaya-NYC events hosted at The Big aLICe Barrel Room in Industry City, Brooklyn the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
The band features a regularly rotating group of musicians for all around the NYC region and tunes performed by The Stooges Brass Band, the Treme Brass Band, TBC Brass Band, the New Birth Brass Band, and of course Rebirth Brass Band. Wherever there is an opportunity to get down, Ad Hoc Brass is always ready to get you there.
