NICK GIANNI’S EVOLUTION ENSEMBLE

Nick Gianni’s Evolution Ensemble developed their own unique sound out of Downtown NYC’s vibrant music scene, honing its sound at Nublu, Ave C’s late-night hotspot.

For their new album Nick started replacing piano with synthesizer, adding conga and percussion to the mix, plus electronic drums.

Enter veteran horn members Matt Lavelle, Welf Dorr & Mike Irwin to fuel the excitement. The results resemble an 80’s club vibe, with elements of P-Funk, Sun Ra & Fela.

Together the members of Evolution Ensemble have performed at such concert venues as Nublu Jazz Festival, Red Hook Jazz Festival, Jibber Jazz, River to River Festival, Willisau Jazz Festival and Central Park Summerstage.
